Why Kumon?

In 1958, the Kumon Institute of Education was established by Toru Kumon, who was a successful maths teacher and parent in Japan. He originally created this for his child what is called now the Kumon Maths Programme. As well as maths, the Kumon programmes now help to improve English skills, they are continuously evolving and learning from instructors and students, making the programmes as effective as they can. Every day Kumon students finish Kumon studies outside of school and go to study centres usually twice every week.

The study centers run by franchisee’s are open for class usually two up to six days every week. When not in class; business owner’s need to be flexible with their time to suit the needs of their students and business. when the business expands they may have to increase class times as well as add more days at their centre. The instructor or franchisee will need to attend the study center during class times and will also be in control of a group of assistants and promote, raise awareness for the Kumon center to increase enrollment.

Training 

When you make the decision to own your very own Kumon franchise, you will undergo two full weeks of training, which is comprehensive and essential to the success of your business opportunity. The initial training will consist of building skills, learning basic management skills, understanding how to manage an effective and efficient study center and the Kumon method.

For the first year of opening, training will continue throughout this period including a combination of worksheet study, center visits and training sessions. This will help franchisees have a more thorough understanding of what the Kumon method is. Area managers in the franchisees local area will help them when joining to set up their study center and assist them during each franchise term.
